We were close to Danny. We’ve lived the impact. We know why we’re here.
Mental illness is far too common. It’s not hard to think of people in our lives, media, and sport who face mental health challenges, and almost half of us will have our own experiences of living with mental illness. Thankfully, many people and organisations are working to build a better mental health care system to support us when we need it.
More and more of us are realising the value of prevention.
We know we can be far more proactive and build and protect our mental health – specifically, our mental fitness – to prevent mental illness and ultimately play our lives better. This is the game-changer. With our unique facilities, world-leading partnerships, and deep commitment to doing better, we will drive significant advancements in mental health and well-being within our community.
We’re here for the long haul. Expect us to make a substantial and lasting difference.
Over the past year, our mental fitness programs have infiltrated the community – with over 8,000 young people being reached through over 200 programs. Our first year of impact is something to be proud of, but there is still so much to come. As we open the doors to the next phase of the DFC building, we will see our impact grow further. We’re doing the tried-and-true things that we know people need – DFC psychology. And we’re also pushing the boundaries and creating new solutions that haven’t been tried before, with strong research and evaluation built in so we can learn and improve quickly.
